When is the new version of the mod expected to be ready for download? I just need a rough estimate for the tron wiki. Thanks!

I can't really say at this point. Almost every time I gave an estimate in the past, we missed that date by a wide margin.

All I can say with certainty is that the mod will be updated with new features, and will become available again.

What was the reason for taking the killer.App Mod down? Was it REALLY dysfunctional?
I tried the game when it first came out and lost the disks before I completed it. Now I've got the itch again and all this action and extra maps has got me excited!
    Thanks for all the effort.

No, there was nothing really wrong with it. But it was decided to take the mod down and re-issue it once the new version is completed.

Once the new version is near release, you can be sure I'll post some news about it.

Is this still in the works?

Yes, an updated version of the mod is still being worked on and will be released. Probably some time in the next couple of months.

Progress on the new release has been slow, due to real-life issues for some of the team members.

The next release should add some further improvements and additional fixes: such as proper widescreen support, for example.
