TRON 2.0: Killer App Mod - New Weapons Added In Future Update

By TronFAQ on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:28 PM

With the help of new LDSO member Kain-Xavier, both Zook_One and myself (TronFAQ) have been able to recreate the weapons from the Xbox version of TRON 2.0: Killer App in the PC version of the game. Big thanks go out to Kain-Xavier for making this possible! It's something that originally was not going to be attempted until v1.3 of the Killer App Mod, which would have been long down the road.

The Disc Absorber is still not 100% working correctly in Multiplayer Derez, but the remaining three weapons appear to be working perfectly.

And we've been able to do something in the Mod that you can't do in the Xbox version (that I'm aware of): use the new weapons in the Single Player portion of the game! However, the additional weapons will be restricted to users of the Gold cheat, only. Traditional playthrough without using the cheat means no added weapons, to keep the experience as it's always been.

NOTE: I'm not happy yet with the icon on one of the updated powerups, so it's still going to be worked on.

It's best to watch the trailer in higher quality HD so you can see the details better.

We don't have an exact ETA for the v1.2 update. But we're looking to have it done before the end of 2012.

Thanks from the Killer App Mod team, and if you have any questions or comments: visit the LDSO message forum or leave a comment here.

Two New Downloads for the 30th Anniversary of TRON

By TronFAQ on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 12:48 AM
For the 30th Anniversary of TRON, two new items are being released for download.

Download it from here

The first is an updated version of the TRON 2.0 Self-Installing Editing Tools, bringing it to v1.2. There are a lot of changes and fixes in this release. More details can be found here.

Download it from here

The second is a new KMX Legacy Disc Mod. If you've ever used Xistence's Ancient Disc Mod for TRON 2.0, then you know exactly what to expect. It changes your discs to look like the ones from the TRON Legacy sequel.

It was 30 years ago on July 9th, 1982 that the original TRON film was released in theaters. And today, we have the new TRON Uprising series on Disney XD to look forward to every week.

I have to say that Uprising is far, far better than Legacy was when it comes to story and providing varied locales. (Instead of being stuck in indoor sets for 90% of the film!) In a way, it's kind of a sad statement when a "cartoon" is so much better than the actual movie sequel you waited almost 30 years for. But, at least I'm really enjoying what Disney has to offer now!
