TRON Evolution PC Multiplayer Map Pack #1 DLC Download

By TronFAQ on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 8:54 PM
Took a break from modding TRON 2.0, to turn my attention to TRON Evolution for a moment.

If you bought the Retail DVD version of TRON Evolution for PC, it came with a code that let you download two additional Multiplayer maps for free. For some reason (in a typical display of Disney Interactive’s wisdom), these maps were not included with the Steam version of TRON Evolution.

GFWL (Games for Windows Live) still works, and you can play Multiplayer online with other players, no problem. But these maps can no longer be downloaded from GFWL via the code, even on the Retail DVD version. Great, huh?

Well, fret not. Since anyone who bought the game at release was entitled to these two maps for free, I have no qualms about making these available again. (Besides, without the game this DLC is pretty useless.)

TRON Evolution Multiplayer Map Pack #1 DLC Download

After you run the installer, you’ll have two additional Multiplayer maps in TRON Evolution. Codestream Nexus and User’s Plaza. This installer should work for either the Retail DVD or Steam version of the game.

I’d like to thank my pal Parallax Abstraction for helping me test the map installer. The maps showed up for him in-game, and we played a few matches. These maps did indeed seem to be working correctly in terms of game mechanics and scoring, as far as we could tell.

The only thing I’m definitely not certain about, is whether this installer will work for people who are playing TRON Evolution in a language other than English. It should work. But, I can’t 100% guarantee that. Everyone let me know if you have any issues with the installer.

Hi, when I click on the link to download the TRON Evolution Multiplayer maps I instantly get a browser redirect. I would really like to have these as I bought the PC game new two years ago but could never get the extra DLC maps. Please help!

When you click the download link in this article it should take you to a download page that lists a bunch of files, but jumps to the specific download link for the DLC on that page. Just now I tried the link to the page in this article, and the download link, and they both worked for me?

I recently installed this DLC and it worked out great. When I clicked on the link, on this very page, it too me to the files page, where the direct link to the download is and I simply clicked on that. It took me to the Google Drive page with the file ready for download.

Hey, I was able to get it, I found I had a browser hijack! Still battling it but was at least able to get the DLC. Thanks so much for this site. My son and I have been playing Evolution for PC and had always wanted the extras. I bought TRON 2.0 years ago but never installed it. Now I have a great reason to!

I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you, Jeff!
I just finished installing Tron 2.0. and added all the apps and map packs. Such a great game, once you have everything modified to your liking.

Yeah in my first attempt to find the DLC on another website I downloaded a mega pack of adware/malware. It took almost two days to clean it all out...literally 20 adware programs and three browser hi-jackers that auto installed in under a minute. It was insane! Do you guys know if by chance the Sam Flynn multiplayer skin is included in the Evolution DLC? The little piece of paper that came with my disc says so but wonder if this was also included on this sites DLC data. It would be great but not a deal breaker of course. Secondly, is there a way to make the AI adversaries appear in any of the other stock maps and or the DLC maps too? I've always noticed you only get to battle AI in the two default maps and not in the light cycle arenas and they also did not show up in the DLC maps(which are killer BTW, especially Users Plaza!)-And I'm on the PC version if that helps.

I have tried, repeatedly, to get my Sam Flynn skin installed, to no avail. I too have the redemption code that came with my retail copy. Unfortunately, they made it so the code expires after it's been used. (pretty lame) Unfortunately, the model is not available in this DLC map pack and I can't find anything on it on the XBox Live site.
I almost dove in and purchased the DLC pack directly from the in game GFWL app, which is around the 300 point mark (about 4.99 in price), but then I found Tronfaq's link. I'm not sure if by purchasing the DLC from Microsft, you get the Sam Flynn skin with it, or if it's just the additional maps. Actually, I'm not even certain the purchase would go through Games For Windows Live.

As far as enabling bots on the grid, it is highly unfortunate that we're only able to activate them in 2 derez maps and not the light cycle maps.
That never made sense to me.
One thing that's great about Tron 2.0, is that you can play the light cycle maps with multiple A.I.s

I'm hoping as Microsoft continues to integrate cross platforming, that some day, the grid on PC, will come to life again, as I'm seeing people who have Gold subscriptions, are downloading this game to their Xbox 360s/Ones for free and playing the online matches.

I'm thinking about installing this on another PC in my house so that my son and I can play against each other in multiplayer and or play together against bots. Of all the quick matches I played over the last year I've only run into one other live person so I'd love to find a team or group for doing things in the other maps. I'd really love to see a 4 on 4 bike match. Since I have a PC copy I wonder if I can use it for another install or if I need to buy another one off eBay (as I don't know if the Steam app will work in MP with my disc copy? thoughts?) I guess they are both cheap enough though that it may not matter and could try either way.

My son is only 4.5 btw and over the last 6 months has mastered all the moves in Evo. We play it a few times a week. I also blew $200 on Disney Infinity 2.0/3.0 and they are pulling the plug on it for PC next month! I'm beyond angry as we've only had it a little over a year and it included some really cool Tron content too. Being that it's ending Tron 2.0 will definitely be our next game. I'm trying to keep the violence aspects to a minimum. Disc battles and "ice cube" derezzing are about as mild as it gets I think.

At the time I put together this DLC installer, I didn't have everything I needed in order to attempt adding Sam Flynn as a playable character in MP. It's something I can still look at adding.

Regarding bots: TRON Evolution had a very rushed development in order to make it in time, so it could be released simultaneously with the TRON Legacy movie sequel. Propaganda Games used the standard AI routines for bots that are included with Unreal engine, but would have had to enhance that for use with Light Cycles. This would've taken a lot of additional development time, which they didn't have. So as a consequence, bots are limited to being on-foot. Even the option to use 90 degree turns on the Light Cycles almost didn't make it in, and were a last-minute addition.

The Steam version's Multiplayer is the same as the Disc version. They're compatible. Disney just ripped the content from the TRON Evolution DVD disc for the Steam version, without making any significant changes. Right down to using the same outdated versions of GFWL and PhysX in the Steam release, that give everyone headaches when trying to install the game.

I gave Disney shit back in the day for how badly they treated TRON 2.0, but what they've done with Disney Infinity is even worse. Absolutely disgraceful.

I can't believe they didn't properly update the game for Steam, so users could simply install and play right off the bat. This is probably why the multiplayer grid is still dead empty.

Tronfaq, I want to thank you again for all the effort you put into helping make these games work. If it weren't for your help, I would never have enjoyed these games the way I can today.

Thank you very much for the installer.
Can anyone confirm if it's possible to play the DLC maps with bots?
I don't even mind if the bots can't use the light cycles.
Or is this still not possible and only two maps can be played with bots?
  12. TronFAQ October 21, 2020 7:33 PM
@Anon Any maps that feature Light Cycles don't allow bots. This rules out bots on these DLC maps (Codestream Nexus and User's Plaza) since Light Cycles can be used on both of them.
